The South African Institute of Electrical Engineers, formed in 1909, has grown to over 5000 members. Members are professionally engaged in the full range of engineering activities, including academic research, manufacturing, electronics, telecommunications, measurement and control, mining, and power infra-structural services. Members make meaningful contributions to the quality of life of the community and to the steady advancement of technology. Their efforts are acknowledged in many countries of the world.

The Institute contributes to the common interests and welfare of the whole engineering fraternity through close co-operation with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)

SAIEE RESPONSE TO NERSA ON THE ESKOM MYPD 2 DATED 2009-09-30 AND 2009-11-30 (Date Posted: 2010-01-13)
The SAIEE has submitted a response to NERSA regarding the Eskom proposed tariff increase of 35%. Public hearings are in progress having starting on 11 January 2010, and these will terminate in Gauteng on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 January. (Note This is an extension of one day in view of the large number of responses that have been received.) The SAIEE presentation, by its President duToit Grobler, will be from 11h50 to 12h10 with questions from12h10 to 12h20 on Friday 22nd Jan 2010. The public hearings in Gauteng will be held at the Gallagher Convention Centre at 19 Richards Drive Midrand. They will start at 09:00 and end at 17:30 and 18:40 respectively on the two days.Late input from members may be sent to Stan Bridgens at s.bridgens@saiee.org.za. [more]
