Members remote from Gauteng are served by the various SAIEE centres. Our centres also aim to proactively assist in getting the broader membership more directly involved in the activities of the SAIEE.
They provide effective local foci of activity, particularly in areas such as technology leadership, CPD, mentoring, student guidance and mentoring of local student chapters, and outreach.
The SAIEE presently has three formal centres. These are the KwaZulu Natal Centre (based in Durban), the Western Cape Centre (Based in Cape Town), and the Southern Cape Centre (based in George). The KZN Centre celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2007.
Informal centres (interest groups) are based in Port Elizabeth, East London and Bloemfontein.
An inaugural meeting was held in May 2007 to establish a new centre in Mpumalanga (based in Secunda) and an initaive is afoot to establish a similar centre in Sasolburg.
