COURSE OVERVIEW
This course will cover various aspects of lightning protection, earthing, and bonding, including safeguards for buildings and substations, surge protection for low voltage (LV) and signal systems, risk assessment, and human safety. It is designed to provide comprehensive insights into the subject, with particular attention to the latest developments and updates in international and South African standards. Once delegates have a solid grasp of the background for each theme and the calculation of risk levels, they will be guided to master techniques for designing and installing an air termination system for complex buildings, down conductors, bespoke earthing systems, bonding and shielding systems, and other critical concerns for high-risk installations. Each theme covered includes several case studies with detailed analyses that emphasize significant engineering issues.
