It is with great pleasure that we announce the 34th Southern African Universities Power Engineering Conference (SAUPEC 2026). This flagship Southern Africa regional conference will be hosted by the School of Engineering, University of KwaZulu Natal in conjunction with the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) and IEEE South Africa Section. SAUPEC brings together experts from the industry, academics and students in engineering, computer science and information technology to present research papers, network, and expand the fraternity that has been built as part of the SAUPEC legacy.

PAPER FORMAT

Prospective authors are invited to submit high-quality papers in the above research fields. Papers, with maximum length of six pages, are to be prepared in accordance with the IEEE format available on the conference website. Authors must upload their papers to the Paper Submission website: The Microsoft CMT services: Papers will go through a “double-blind review”, please note that no author(s) name(s) should appear on the paper submitted for review.

CMT ACKNOWLEDGMENT: The Microsoft CMT service was used for managing the peer-reviewing process for this conference. This service was provided for free by Microsoft and they bore all expenses, including costs for Azure cloud services as well as for software development and support

REVIEW POLICY

Full papers will be assessed by at least two reviewers. Papers accepted by the review panel will be published in the conference proceedings. Papers not accepted by the review panel may be presented as posters but will not be included in the proceedings. The full review policy is available on the conference website. Papers will be submitted to IEEE to be uploaded on IEEE Xplore after IEEE has approved the conference.
